Roller for the Press
« on: April 01, 2013, 09:08:38 PM »

What material am I looking at to make a roller for a press?

My initial guess is stainless steel, but I was thinking of aluminium as its easer to work with but is softer, but were only pressing willow here?

Stainless steel is your best option , but costly, steel is fine but will rust

Thanks, was thinking steel as I'm gonna give my clefts a light coat of linseed instead of water so that should help keep the rust away.

Is aluminium deffo a no-go? I've been given an offcut!

Also, is your press one of those from India? Could you PM me with details please?
