Sweatbands
« on: April 21, 2013, 07:54:06 AM »

G'day, first time poster.

I broke my wrist last season on my right arm, which is (right hander) my top batting hand and tried using a arm guard in the nets but just was far too uncomfortable. What I'm looking for is similar to what Ross Taylor wears, a sweatband which has a little bit of protection inside it. See pic.

You can sort of see it there, I'm assuming its a metal plate inside the sweatband. Has anyone seen these before or know where I could find one.

Cheers.

I have same problem as don't like arm guards and use the padded Ayrtek sweatbands and do trick although there not metal plate inside but offer decent protection

Have you tried the Aero arm guard? Tried one one yesterday (didn't bat in it though) and seemed very comfortable. The thing that's put me off arm guards in the past are the straps, but this one is within a sleeve.

Yeah arm guards in general just don't appeal to me, I lasted about 3 balls before taking it off when I tried it.

Are you sure you're not a left hander? Especially if you broke your right wrist and its your top hand???  :o

We've got plenty of sweatbands left in stock if George wants to insert some of his magical materials into them?

Let me know and can send some down to him to come up with a solution

This sounds promising, Is it just an extra foam in it? that would work well.

Would you ship to Aus?

We produced some previously with an impact absorbing foam in the middle of the sweatbands that we got asked by a few pros for and sold. Few to forum members too.

Happy to ship wherever if there is a demand

We'll get this sorted as your all right its a good one to look at.

PS i've just finished the first prototype for an articulated arm guard which covers the top of the forearm, elbow and and about 2" above as some players have mentioned about getting hit on the joint which is an incredibly delicate area. It currently looks awful so will get phase 2 underway and post an update soon ! Cheers again !
