I think you can use a battery too! I would probably go for the paceman, as I reckon a swinging harder ball is much better to train with than a quicker but softer ball.

yeah you can run a paceman on a battery but you need an adaptor
has anyone used these of seen them being used?

I thought the paceman couldn't work from a stand alone battery, like a car battery. So if I wanted to go to the beach and use it I couldn't. Would be nice to know if it can.

Vitas from here sell it, maybe they have used it in their cricket coaching/net???

The speed is a problem, 55 mph is slower than a throw down and no use to an adult but the feeder is very handy. Bringing it closer will speed it up but it's not ideal. If they can get it to 70mph then I would consider it.

Yeh thats my problem too the problem is there are not many other bowling machines at this price
 bringing it closer dosent really give a good representation of real bowling
the only thing that can help is the swing as it can swing the ball a fair bit

Can't some people on here put their heads together and work out how to create one.

It needs two grooved wheels and a very powerful motor, that's all I know but wouldn't know how to go about creating one or where to go to get one made ... China I presume

I can provide the cash just need the important part.... Someone with knowledge of the product

Im no expert but your right there is a real gap in the market for affordable quality bowling machines and if made possible could be very successful

would be reasonably easy to make aswell only a few components to it, any in house mechanics ?
The hardest bit would be making the wheels run at same speed in opposite direction off 1 motor.
maybe an electric wheel chair motor or similar...

i've seen a one wheel baseball machine throw 80mph but those baseballs are light so might not work with the bola style balls

two wheels allows for spin and wing and all sorts but is obviously double the cost??

I think im going to try to invent one!!

Where i work there are some electricians, plumbers, boiler maintenance people so one of them must know something

i think a brushless motor is what they use, hence the cost they go for quite a bit. You could make a petrol one but noise.....
