Well done Jimmy. Only the fourth Englishman to get to 300 wickets... Can he get to 400? Theoretically, if he had an amazing year, then yes!

Why do you think he'll only play for one more year???

Vaughn on TMS saying that Jimmy had mentioned to him he'd like to play until he's 40!

He's taken roughly 2.5 years per hundred wickets, post his first 100. So he'd be 32/33 if he maintains the rate that he's going at.

It's certainly achievable, but I think it will be easier if he has an amazing year!

10 ashes tests will help his cause as well.

Gotta love Ian Smith, he just absolutely owned Athers and Hussain.

Ian Smith is hilarious!  Ripping into Athers and Nasser. All a good laugh

So is Ross Taylor playing a completely different game?  Run a ball 48, going strong.

I don't think Ross Taylor was playing a different game, just broad and Finn bowling much to shift on a slow pitch. Just plain stupid bowling and we really gave far too many runs away.

If we (NZ) had two world class opening batsman we would be very good team. Good young bowlers, Good fielders, Good captain, good middle order. Can't wait for the 3rd days play.

Watling injured, McCullum back keeping - but interestingly without any pads!

Nice response from Broad to this. Hard to watch as a NZer but great bowling.

I thought that New Zealand had played some good cricket over the first 3 1/2 days. Southee bowled well too IMO. Just that last innings where Broad ae to the show.

What was the key to this match do we think? Was it that finally, Broad had a little bat that made him confident enough to bowl well? That was an amazing spell on Sunday morning... Or was it the pitch and conditions that actually made the difference?

Are we overlooking the contribution of Root, without whom the Jimmy and Stuey wouldn't have had anything to bowl at?

I thought that Broad bowled very well, and in England at least, if he keeps it like that then he is going to be tough to deal with over the coming summer. I think our batting is looking more brittle than it has in a long time. This may just be form, but we shall see.

Given the next match is at Headingley, should we persist with Finn or give Big Tim a shot? Has our top order batting been so bad that we might take this more prudent approach, and it being his home ground, can he take better advantage of it than Steve Finn did on his?

Finally, will Prior fail again? Has his purple patch come to an end? I sincerely hope not, but that pair was not a glorious way to start the International summer!!! WHat are your thoughts?
