A wise man once told me to sit in a quiet room, close my eyes, and visualise myself scoring my previous 50. How did you do it, how did it feel, ect ect.

I still do it and it works.

However, it's subjective, but worth a try.

it definitely works. If i dont sit and think/visualise before i game it seems i dont get many runs. it usually occurs when i get rushed or forget some kit.

Being in the right frame of mind is something which i think can be more important than your actual ability! And by the sounds of it and the way you posted it is a case of having to address your psychology as your abilities wont have lessened overnight.

There are a number of techniques, you could try taking your bat and gloves out to the middle before the start of the game and use imagery to visualise your innings. Playing the actual shadow shots.

Another is having some pictures of you creaming the ball playing some top shots or a lsit of your best innings in the lid of your bag and then that way every time you pad up you will see these and hopefully jog memories of past successes proving to yourself you can do it

Following on from the last point you may want to write a few words on your gloves such as positive, no frustration or relax which you can look at whilst batting to just get that into your head.

You could try and develop some form of pre-shot routine, much like trott clearly demonstrates but most players will have something this can help you relax and focus on what is to come next.

Sorry for the long post but just finished my degree in sport science in which i did a lot of sport psychology work and felt i should just pass on some techniques

Love the idea of writing on gloves, may try that!

My pre shot routine is to simply take a deep breath and exhale slowly. It really focuses me.

keep it simple mate
head still
watch the ball like a hawk
play with full face
be patient and wait for the bad balls.
