Sorry if the topic seems pointless.

Ok put it this way if you had to buy a bat blind, what big manufacturer would you take a punt on and also what small maker?

Hmm from what I have used or tried off of friends here is my few picks..

RPC/Blue Room, H4L, BB & Hammer Cricket Bats ( I know this might be controversial for some but I have now tried both his UK made and NZ made bats and there is a significant difference in the way these bats are pressed/rebound. Only reason they are low on my list is because I can't justify the price although even the lower end Hammer bats are better looking and performing than some top of the line)

If I had to pick a big brand blind it would have to be CA simply on performance.

With the greatest of respect this has to be the most pointless thread ever posted! It's like asking who makes the best house!

What are B3 like, not heard much about them apart from there is supposed to be a test players bat in the hands of a forumite

In general are they any good or has their concept not been popular in UK (I'm not in England so don't see them)

Hard one. I would say from experience, it has to be TK, never had a bad TK bat. Okay, I've had one or 2 which weren't anything outstanding, but I've had 5 which were/are exceptional. I don't know how I feel about not being able to really get in contact with him though, which is why I quite like dealing with Laver, as Andy normally asks James about my requests to see if they are feasible. :) If you're talking about a batmaker I would happily deal with over and over again, it would be Laver, great performing bats. Only criticism is his handles are a little skinny!

Most of the B3 bats, even down to grade 3 level seem to be one enormous middle.

How many of us has kept bats long enough to use them at their peak?

Fastest off the block doesn't is no assurance for winning the race.

The best bat I ever had was a Torpedo. It was basically a middle with a handle!

Is that the same brand Tornado as I've seen several of in/around Sheffield/South Yorkshire cricket? Heard a lot about them being absolute guns but they last about a month!

Yes. Had mine 2 seasons and still going strong. Think the issue was the handles, but they have improved.

No supposed about it mate the b3 I have should be 3-2 oz in the wood to weight conversion but comes in at 2-9 and a touch the jt bat.

I have another as well the custom as Tim rightly says there great bats and a great consent and nobody well it very hard to get a more custom made bat to exactly you spec in your weight then b3 no handmade bat can compete due to the density of cleft weight ratio to the spec you want ratio.

It science at the highest order and the most custom bat you can currently get on the market.

If you have a spec to a mm they can reproduce in the weight and they can do the same bat to the same spec exact time and time again with the only difference the grain structure.

Many slate for not ring handmade this handmade that but currently b3 are the only people who can customise ever individual bat the same exactly the same if you desire.

And perfomance wise I have no issues they go very well I couldn't be more happier

Interesting regarding B3

Saw a video on their website of the Cnc machine but they were pressing their own bats. Also looked like some bloke was shaping the bat by hand. What are the handles like, thin or thicker?

For £325 at the top end are they comparable with Salix and MH

Yes mate very comparable mate best if you go there and get it done yourself however the process can be done over Skype mate.

Handles are how you want them I have 2 different ones a very thin handle in line with my Asian mids bats I get the other the jt bat has the thickest oval handle I have ever held mate.

Yes the quality is as good as any on the market bud I have not had a drama yes they press every cleft individually and also offer great repairs and refurbishment.

My first bat was the first and they told me it would be rough around the edges but my 2nd the finish is on par with any and the performance is great.

I know I sound like a salesman I am not I declined there offer Of becoming a player agent because of time but I will openly advertise there bats because I know the quality of there process and the bats stand up with any brand.

There also decent people and what they offer is different to anything on the market
