GN Scoop - Perimeter weighted
« on: May 15, 2013, 08:21:07 PM »

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, if it has perhaps somebody can point me in the right direction  ;)

Out of curiosity, how do GN remove the wood on the scoop bats?  Looking at a drawknife for example, I can't see it being useful for this job?  As you can tell I'm no expert, just have a technical curiosity!

I think they are made on their CNC machines in India. I do wonder how they did it a couple of decades back though, for both the Dynadrive and the Scoop!

I have a Coopers Drawknife which would probably be able to do some scooping but it would be a pig to do accurately.....

a small round sander would also do the trick.

Yes,

It is a jig on a spindle-molder. The same we we always have done, in fact the dynadrive cutters are exactly the same as from its first release.

By the way, we don't CNC at our factory in India.

Cheers
