Hi guys,

I bought this kookaburra kahuna t20 bat in hong kong today from Montgomery cricket shop. This bat weights about 2.11 apparently and has about 8 kinda straight grains. It got about 40+mm edge I think, this bat when I search on internet is apparently grade 3 unbleached willow but It kinda look like a grade 2 to me it looks absolutely lovely and pings great. Guys tell me what u think of the bat and what grade It should be in.

Some companies will class that as Grade 1. Lovely grains, a little wobbly, but nothing serious. Maybe there's hidden blemishes under some of the stickers which could be why its graded lower? But looking at the visible wood, I would grade it as grade 1 or at least high end grade 2.

that's what I thought as well mate but It cost about 100 quid to buy it and to be fair a grade 1 or even high grade 2 won't be that cheap, but can't wait to try it out in the net on Wednesday to see if it is worth it or not!

Yeah nice bats these but make sure you add good amount of tape of the toe of the bat, with pick-up being so light on these bats the additional tape should not affect it too much, the toe on these is really weak. I broke the toe on a mates bat yesterday that is now sitting at my home covered in glue and clamps...

Lovely bat that is, my friend had a kahuna t20 and it had 4 grains and plenty of heart wood !

These bats can be absolute guns. Lovely pick up and absolutely fly. For a mainstream manufacturer they have one of the nicest middles.

Not sure whether the performance is consistent. However I got mine from Paul at IJC, and he picked a beaut

Those grains are really nice for a grade 3! Got lucky with the deal as that could have easily been sold as a grade 1/2

yeah i know right! use it a few times in the nets already and it really fly!!
