Always like to see it when a pro obviously loves a bat so much they keeping addi g tape to it to hold it together, especially when they have about 6 others in their kit bag!

The lad one here that works for GM said he does it with all of his bats, even straight from the wrapper!

I've noticed a few pro taping their bats like that this year. I kind of wondered if it was laminate related?

e has taped mostly all the bats I've seen him used, his flare, halo and now argon !

Taping the face wouldn't hide a great deal if it were a laminate.
It's the edge that needs to be hidden.

Might help with performance? Perhaps allowing the laminate to be 'looser'? I noticed the Ricky Ponting, a renowned 'bat-head', had his bat taped the same way on TV last night.
