Bat warranty
« on: July 09, 2013, 10:52:02 AM »

Whilst clearing up my kit yesterday, i noticed a crack on my bat,  if you look on my twitter @sj_morgs10   youll be able to see the damage.   it is also running down the splice join too.

Because ive removed the bats stickers,  does this mean the warrenty is voided? or will it still be covered under the manufacturers warrenty

replied via twitter, your warranty shouldn't be affected by removing the stickers. All kook bats have a stamp on the shoulder. Does it also have a kook toe guard?

If you roll the grip down there will be some Kook stickers on the binding.

One will say 'UK Menace" and another one will say 'Menace 500' (or whatever model it is)

The stickers on the binding, combined with the shoulder stamps is how they identify a bat.

Good stuff,   ive spoken to fordham sports and well fat lot of use that is.   ive got to pay the p+p to send it to kookaburra which wont be reimbursed.  and then they offered me half price knocking in as a sorry which i think is a bit of a kick in the teeth.

Have spoken direct to chris at kooka and hes much more helpful     i even asked the cheeky question if i could change the ricochet 1000 for a recoil 900 and i said dont worry about the price difference as the recoil is cheaper

So if the bat knackered? your not after a repair, just a replacement?

according to fordham the bat is knackered.  as its not just a rehandle job,  they think the splice fit was too tight   but its being sent off to kookaburra at my own expense to be looked at

slightly off topic, but a teammate of mine, who works/owns a small local sports shop, so gets a few bats to use himself, he bought a GM Octane 909, used it for a few games and nets, it then broke down at the toe, he sent it back to GM and they 'fixed' it for him. It then broke in the same place again the next time he used it, so sent it back again. GM responded will a letter explaining that bats will break if you constantly hit the ball at the toe of the bat, and should use the middle instead. Has anyone else ever experienced something like this? They replaced the bat with a brand new one, I think he's got quite lucky to be honest. Despite the letter maybe being a bit of a kick in the teeth, they do have a point, its hardly their fault that the bat has broken if he continues to hit it with the toe. Which is something he doesn't quite understand, its not that the bat is faulty or breakage due to storm damage

True.  They are only round the corner from where I live, and I'd much rather go out of my way to Romida in Leatherhead if I can't get up to IJC.

Last bat I bought from fordham's they told me not to buy, even though it was out of the buget I set myself (They were trying to flog me a bat £100 more than my budget, I eventually went for one £20 more than budget)

In my experience Kookaburra are very good at replacing bats, we've sent a coulpe back without any expectation of getting a replacement and they have suprised us with FOC replacements. Provided the bat isn't too old i'd be suprised if they didn't replace it. I'm suprised fordhams didnt offer to send it back for you??

fordham did offer to send it back but i would still have to pay p+p costs to them, wheras id father fast track the process and send it direct to kooka myself.  after the mayhem of delivery with bat first up, id rather do it personally
