What is this?

Is this mould? If so how to get rid of it?

I keep my kit outside as i don't have much room elsewhere, i leave this bat in my kit. I have only had the bat for 2 months, LW knocked it and and i oiled it 3 more times

Sorry for blurry pic, it's just black dots on the bat, it's been spreading

When you say you keep your kit 'outside' do you mean in the back garden on the lawn or in a shed? It looks like mould of some sort, try sanding it back a bit...

Looks like damp/mould. Shouldn't keep the kit outside as it'll do more damage than good.

Bring the kit inside. Especially in the winter. I've been told bats go bad when left in the cold for a long time. Not sure how true this is but I don't want to test the theory by risking it with a good one!

Yeah.

Brought it inside and put the LW sock inside the bat sleeve (wish i thought of that before!)

It was on a deck above the grass, right next to the house

Any idea how to get rid of it? Preferably don't want to sand

As long as it won't affect performance, I'll live!

Still there, I'll just give it some coats of Oil to ensure no more moisture gets in.
