Legend Experience or Custom Made
« on: July 23, 2013, 07:32:52 PM »

What is the difference between the Gray Nicolls Legend Experience and a Gray Nicolls Custom Made? I saw them both advertised on the vitas cricket website and the only difference i saw was that the Legend experience was £600 and the custom made was £325. Can anyone shed some light on this?

What is the difference between the Gray Nicolls Lengend Experience and a Gray Nicolls Custom Made? I saw them both advertised on the vitas cricket website and the only difference i saw was that the Lengend experience was £600 and the custom made was £325. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Legend experience you get to go to Gray Nicolls factory and select ceft and watch bat ring made, the other you stare what you want on a frum and Gray nics send it o you, in a nutshell mate

the custom made experience is quite limited i think... you have to go with a stock profile (but not legend) and only get to choose stuff like weight, grains (narrow/wide) etc.

The major difference is the Legend experience involves a visit to the factory. You can choose your cleft and specify anything you want in terms of shape, weight etc.

Custom made is a stock shape made to your weight, with a few other options like handle type, bow in the blade etc. Officially you cannot pick a cleft as it does not include a visit to the factory, but usually i am able to email you pictures of 2 or 3 clefts to pick from.

I think the biggest difference is the pricetag! ;) I would guess the Legend experience you get to see everything done, and specify shape etc, and you may also get a chance to meet Cook or Strauss, from what I remember, but I could be wrong! The Custom is a stock shape made in LE willow to whatever specs you want in terms of handle, weight etc. Drop Jake at Vitas a PM and see what he suggests. :)

Meeting the England captain is a different package and costs more. I think it's one thousand pounds.

The meeting with Cook/Strauss is captains choice, and is basically the same as the Legend experience but costs even more due to meeting an England hero. I believe GN are discontinuing captains choice though.

Ah right, my bad! Are GN the only ones out of the big brands to offer a service like this? I'm sure they make quite a large sum of money if anyone goes for that!

Have you sold any of the Captain's Choice options Jake? What type of discount are they thinking of? I think you really have to be a great fan of Cook or Strauss to fork out the extra cash.

I would love to see a gn bat with no concaving rather than the current shapes. some nice not too fat edged, but big meat in the middle.
