I would never send things by standard parcels again. Had so many bats go missing and delivery takes ages. If you are going to send via royal mail, I would recommend paying the extra 2 pound for recorded delivery.

As far as I know, you dont get any insurance unless you use recorded delivery or higher. I sold a bat on ebay for £40, sent it via standard parcels, it got 'lost' and then the post office said they couldnt do anything about it. I wouldnt trust it personally.

Which is why you should try and insure the item for twice the amount it is worth - this way if the item is well and truly lost (really doesnt happen that often, people are often just dis-honest) then you can give the money back to the customer and make the money back as the seller for loosing the item in the first place.

However, as it has already been mentioned, special delivery all the way!
