I don't really care about top hats as I 6ft+ with long legs. Although I tried on the 2010 newbery tests and they looked good but the top hat is very rigid and uncomfortable

the top hat of pads is in my opinion apart from a helmet the most important issue in kit

Well open to most brands, open to reccomendations and I'll say yes or no lol. Can't afford pads at the moment but not too bothered as my GM's will go on until I can afford some new ones lol.

Ok mate, sure you will get a lot of helped. I once finished the season with some bradbury pads and started the next with some GM pads. After having Canterbury and 2 pairs of pumas over the winter. If you need any help just ask

Might as well list brands lol
GM
Ayrtek
Kookaburra
Redback
Puma depending on VFM
Newbery?

Or any lightweight pads i.e. Morrant/BAS Bow

I'm 6ft 2 so any advice on pads would be welcome. Like I said I have literally no money atm but my budget would be up to £50 absolute max.
