Gray Nicolls - History Of Bats Segment on SKY Ashes Channel
« on: August 24, 2013, 03:50:34 PM »

Interesting to get the respective views of the guys.
Anyone else catch it? GN have pulled a blinder marketing wise on that.
However - have to say.....the Powerbow Gen X looked monstrous on the telly!!! I have one on order with Jake @ Vitas. :D

Yep, it was a good watch and great marketing for Gray Nics.

The segment is on the Skysports website in 2 parts if you want to watch again.

Yes really interesting to see how bats have developed over the years. Clearly traditional style bats can still hit the ball a long way but your more guaranteed even if you don't quite middle it with the new ones. Atherton was not a fan of bottom heavy new style bats and not sure I am either. More interesting than watching England grind past the follow on score.

Just watched this, a good piece. Quite informative.

Not sure what went live, but the part two on the website looks like every time they want to talk about the gen x and nemesis, it cuts to the next piece. Strange,

I thought it was vet interesting. However not sure how accurate the pressing would be basedbon 100 years ago and whether this would effect how well the bats went. While aesthetically they were accurate, reckon they would be pressed modernly and would have made them ping better.

decent watch, agree with you @jwebber86 about being disappointed about them not mentioning anything about the nemesis
