I've been toying with the idea of having my Ayrtek refurbed for a couple of weeks now. I haven't been able to get down to Tb post office so thought I'd have a go at doing it myself. Although I'm happy with the finish and new colour I'd recommend sending it back to Tom.  It took me a hell of a lot longer than expected!

I can't seem to find a decent before picture but it was originally navy blue gloss with silver pin stripes. 



During refurb, removing grill etc.





Preparation





First coat of new paint,  decided to go for a matt black look.



A couple of coats of black later.



Lining glued back in and grill back on.





Only thing left to do is add white pin stripes. Just need to source some

Told you it would look great pal. Matte black lid was always going to be a winner

Krs you have the same problem as me... Had a raw when thet were first released and loved it, just couldn't get my tiny peanut head to sit right without pumping up too much
