Any thoughts on how it all ended at Derbyshire? I find this article on the topic, sounds like a lot of guesswork!:-

Well how long have you got. The previous year Deano took the club to second in the championship when it was one division and we had a chance of winning it but blew it at Somerset. Deano was a hard man who did it his way. As a young player on the staff then, I think other senior players may have felt as though they were being pushed out the way and maybe that the success the previous year had shown up a lot of things that should have been done over the years before as Derbyshire had really been underachievers with the quality of players that they had had over the years. It was quite noticeable in the clubs history that any player in the changing room that had become a senior figure and probably was felt would threaten leadership positions had suddenly left the county be it by choice or the decision made for them so to speak. Look at the top county players and international players that have been and gone over the period of late 80s through to early 90s.
As certain parties started to turn on Deano his so called friend les stillman started to edge his bets from what I saw and then went onto look after his own back. That didn't do him any favours as non of the players then Wanted him around as they wouldn't trust him. What followed at the club was another few years of mediocrity until certain individuals were then finally sorted by the club once the committee had built up the guts to put their foot down. Until they did this nothing was going to change their but since about 2004 the club has been able to rebuild and start to have some success. They may have gone back down to div 2 this year after promotion but at least Karl krikken is giving the young lads a go and their are no stars in the team that has to have a roadshow built around them.
It's a shame Deano went as I heard a strong rumor that we had mark Taylor lined up to take over from him, what a great signing that would have been to have him at the end of his career

Sounds like Jones going was the worst thing that happened!

One of my favorite Australian players.
Still have memories of 91/92 benson and hedges cup
He never failed to score runs and that too in style. Mr consistent and a big hitter

Bed sheet game?? Google isn't telling me anything about this!

Without going into specifics it involves a team, a bed sheet and some guests. It might just be an urban legend though.
