I notice that there are HH bats listed as G1?

I thought the whole point of the HH brand was to offer bats below G1 willow as that was the market Salix were filling/offering? Thus given them a change to offer the same profiles and quality of finish but from the different grades of willow outside what would be reserved for the Salix brand when purchasing in bulk from the willow merchant.

Tom you are possibly correct, i am waiting for description of HitsHard bats from Salix. In the grade section on their price list it says Super G1 hence i wrote down G1 but will correct it once i have the description from Salix.

Yes I managed to find a price list on their FB page that listed G1 as well mate so seems they are looking to offer it which suprised me hence the question.

Yes I managed to find a price list on their FB page that listed G1 as well mate so seems they are looking to offer it which suprised me hence the question.

If they are G1, then it's a fair price, seeing as the Grade One Pod now sells for £285. Assuming both are graded the same, the Pod is around £45 more expensive, and 3rd on the grading order on the Salix range...

I really like Salix, but I just don't agree with the Finite grading. Two seasons ago, a Players bat was made from the very best willow possible for around the £300 mark. (I think the AJK range wasn't around then) Yes, I understand that prices have to go up, but now, a Grade One bat is the same price as a Players was, except it's the third highest! It sounds crazy to say that the willow this season is better than the willow 2 seasons ago, but it seems like that's what the new grading suggests! I think this is what puts me off purchasing another one for the brother - I would be much better off buying a HH…

Rant over, I think I really have to see these bats in flesh before finalising my thoughts - I hope that you still have some in stock which will prove me wrong when I visit, Asad! :)

Personally, would prefer it if Salix had added a grade lower down their range to further differentiate their grading if they needed too, keeping the Players at the top in the pure Salix range and raise the price if justified.

Also, a bat with the name Grade 1 should really be exactly that grade.

For 2014, there are two grades of theirs which are higher than this (putting the AJK brand to one side).

The big question though and the clue may be in the name, is how many Finite bats will be made as a proportion of the total? If it is really only a very few then perhaps not too much has changed and much better value can be found mid-range.

Retailers such as Uzi Sports here can only stock what the makers brand the bats as though.

Thank you for posting the photographs of your Salix bats.

An intro- I have been down with Andrew for the last few days machining bats, I am Part-time Pete those of you who have visited for custom bat fitting on saturday mornings i was probably the one who selected the raw clefts with you! Had some superb time working with Ben and Ian then a couple of days with AJK. I m the contact for the HitsHard website that will be up and running soon, Vicky is just putting the finishing touches to the Salix website. as you can all well imagine this is a busy time of year for Salix to get setup for the year ahead and the cleft to blade perfection that you all enjoy so much that is the key to Salix is that extra effort that we are looking to get. Hope everyone is looking forward to an exciting season ahead and a summer of great weather, willow and leather.

It's great to hear that Salix have more staff on board.  Hopefully those 6-month turnaround times for bats are ancient history now!

I am sure a lot of people on here envy you, Pete.  Best of luck with it, and keep up the good work!  :)

Unfortunately as my name suggest i will only be helping part time at the moment, but will be helping to get bats in to the shops hands where i can. I was at the Lords show last year and met a few of the shop guys on here, just a nod, but a name to a face is better than a voice over the phone!
