Slazenger Shoes
« on: November 11, 2013, 03:41:40 PM »

I need to buy cricket shoes and came across the SD sale http://www.sportsdirect.com/slazenger-advance-mens-cricket-shoes-142024?colcode=14202401

I know Slazenger is not popular for shoes, esp. the sale at SD are not high quality BUT at 15£, these shoes are v.tempting.

Have anybody used them? Can they be used with or without spikes (like kook's dual option shoes)?

Get the SL 22's in my opinion. They are £20 aren't they?

Only SL Advance(15) and SL Premier(10) available atm if SL stands for Slazenger.

Still waiting for the reply to dual option of using them with or without metal spikes?

Just to let you know. About a month ago I saw some new slazenger boots on the sports direct website, almost identical to the asics gel advance 4's. I wish I could remember the price but they were much cheaper than the aspics. They must be the new range and probably released soon

I saw these also. Wouldn't go as far as to say they reminded me of Asics shoes, but certainly a step up compared to Slazengers previous offerings.

Those shoes are not on the Slazenger trade price list, so maybe won't be out til next season or are sports direct exclusives.

I bought this, doesnt come with rubber spikes, bought GN rubber spikes & fit well (need 22 spikes instead of usual 20).  I would say they are not best of the lot but definitely VFM.

The spikes can be removed and the shoes can be used without them. It's pretty decent weight as well, was lighter than my expectation.

It means you can take out the metal spikes easily and use them with or without rubber cleats/spikes. I will probably use them without rubber spikes for indoor and think that they will work fine.

Are they comfortable?
Do they absorb shocks as claimed in 'Midsole stability shank' and '3 in 1 sole'?
Do I need to order the same size as my running shoes?

I haven't played/practiced in it yet but walking feels good, has a good toe protection as well, yes you can order the same size as your running shoes.
