Are there any members of this forum who purchased a Slazenger V100TAS this year? Would love to hear your feedback.

I have one. Feels a nice stick, great rebound properties.
Out ofinterest how much would they be to retro fit?

Only negative is where the oak doesnt fit properly into the recess , leaves a gap near the toe.

To retrofit a bat post production starts from AUD$85, depending on whether there is extratec or similar that needs to be removed first. You could email a photo of your bat to sales@tasbats.com.au for a quote if you are interested.
Would be curious to see a photo of your V100TAS showing the gap near the toe.

to be honest most people on here prefer a bat that is legal for use in league games.

i am not sure that these meet that requirement.

But the bat is still legal for use in all amateur cricket, including top levels such as minor counties, premier league and grade cricket.

Taken from their website. Is the oak held in by pressure then and not glue or something like that  :)?

Never seen one in the flesh but wondered ... is the insert for performance or is it to strengthen the blade or both?

From what I've heard/seen its both. A variation of a laminate I guess.

one of our league players own a Slaz TAS test and it has a very good ping. The pickup of the bat was really good - i guess the concaving helps there

I imagine the oak inserts are a denser wood, would this be likely to add extra weight?

Oaks about 50% denser I believe so I assume so.

I own a V100 Tas Ultimate and a Salix Pod Players that has had the inserts retrofitted.
The inserts on the Salix added just over 2 ounces.
I am yet to use the Salix with the inserts. having used the slazenger I can tell you that the bat feels very stable on crossbat shots. Pull shots that are not hit on centre still fly off the bat. The bat has a lot of power. This could be the inserts or the bat. I have owned 3 slazenger Ultimate series bats and found each one of them to be very average in terms of performance. In light of this I would say that the power I am getting from the V100 is probably due to the inserts.
I will have a better idea of the effect of the inserts once I have a chance to use the salix.

TAS technology has been reviewed by MCC Laws Committee and classified as a Grade B type bat. This means that it is legal in all forms of cricket except first class. League players will have no problems using these bats. Refer Law 6 - The Bat.

TAS inserts add approximately 20 grams of weight. This equates to less than 2% increase on your average weight bat.

The inserts are glued in place using a special glue.

That's interesting, what type bat does a laminate make the bat then?
