Public liability would still be the same though as it has never been law just guidance??

So what are we saying that if my current masuri fails to protect me where the difference to a Shrey in liability if both are only guidance??

Also it makes no mention of them being outlawed after the said date I too got this email and it has confused me.

I'm not saying anything Dave, it isn't my place to do so, that is simply my interpretation of it. If a helmet fails the current test is doesn't go on sale. I see no reason why this would be any different when the new test comes in.

I agree it is still very unclear, which is why we (retailers) are all waiting for further instruction from the powers that be.

Fair shout just getting myself and my 7 year old a new helmets that's my concern mate I agree a right mess.

Any helmet that was made and passed the old eras tests are allowed to be made and sold still, but will have a sticker saying there compliant to the old test.





So if no lawsuit r.e design comes from masuri. Shrey can make and sell the old lid until there hearts content.
Keeping a few old guys happy as they won't have to be made to change.


The issue for shrey is they can't alter said design if they want to, no slight change to grill. No new ear pieces, no upgraded liner, no slight shape change. No material change.
As then it would be a new helmet and need to pass new standards to be sold.

Which it would struggle to do, or why else would masuri abandon it??



And leave shrey in the past. I beleive everyone moaning wants a shrey now, but there will be a time when you pick up a mates new Albion/masuri/ayrtek and go, woah this is light can I try it on. Wow it's comfy and the vision is amazing.
Then your gonna think,why ami stuck with a helmet design 15 years ago that can't be changed by law??

We have been told that this refers to helmets that us retailers already have in stock. So if i still have a load of cheap Kookaburra helmets left after june 30th (i currently have loads so i imagine they will still be here after June 30th) then we are OK to sell them. But they won't be manufactured anymore after this date.

Us retailers are just as in the dark as anyone else. It's a mess.

As I have said repeatedly, these new BSI laws are a scam being foisted on the UK consumer and will NEVER pass in Australia, India, Pakistan, South Africa...or anywhere where honest people play cricket for the love of the game.

Can we just remind everyone,  especially those in Australia,  that in no way is a British standard a law.  If it becomes an ISO, it still won't be a law.  Given Australian public liability rules are similar to the UK,  I imagine that shops selling helmet are going to think similarly to those in the UK. Who knows what will be available in 12 months time.  And honestly? Who really cares!

Until the ICC say they will ignore a standard they have asked for, I'm inclined to believe it. Its not a law as tim says but no retailer will sell a helmet they can get sued for. It seems to me that Vic has been hit a few times wearing a ***** helmet to spout such nonsense.
