you need to give the bat a minimum of 10 innings

We are in a disposable age - when we are used to throwing things out before we have even really used them.
On here bats get blamed when most people can use almost anything as out in the middle. When the adrenalin is pumping it doesn't really matter what you are using.
The doubts are only really there for the first 15 mins on an innings, when you should be focussed on playing yourself in and keeping it simple, not worrying if your bat is any good.

follow the David Hussey approach.
picks up well, feels good in the hands = runs.

anything else is CBF enthused overanalyses of a non issue.

Fair comment.  That's why it takes so long to choose a bat in the shop.  Which is why I would be very nervous going down the route of buying something without getting a feel of it first !

Coming round to this way of thinking more and more.

If not runs, then at least money in the bank.
