Does this performance do any good to Mills' chances of playing in the third test?

No. He is not in the England squad.  He is there as a net bowler and EPP.

Bresnan, Bairstow and Ballance have all put good performances to warrant consideration, depending how the England management want to set the team up.  It will be an interesting decision.

Honestly, I would have thought the fact that both Bairstow and Balance played in this game, would mean they won't play tomorrow. Essentially, there will be what 15 hours between Bairstow finishing his knock and potentially fielding in the heat. I guess he would have kept wicket too for the EPP, so that's 7 days continuously in the heat (-45 overs of their first innings)

it's ok bairstow and ballance are batsman, not like they do much apart from hit boundaries and stand around in the field  :)

Buttler was in the team so presume he kept. does seem a little odd to play them if they have chance of playing in the test. maybe they are thinking they are young and fit so they will be ok.

Unless the Cricinfo scorecard was wrong, Bairstow was down to keep! Will be interesting to see what happens for sure!

Buttler, Bairstow and Foalkes all playing wasn't it, Buttler was down as keeper in the scorecards I saw.

I think it is a toss up between fitness and a bit of middle time.

I saw a cross-thing showing Bairstow was keeping, at least in the 1st inns.
