Topic: Salix Pod One Tri-wheel bag (Read 7069 times)

Has anyone here used it? I saw the review from itsjustcricket online. Does look top-notch, but was wondering if anyone has personal experiences to share re the tri-wheel bag.

I currently have a multi-tiered bag (the Kook Pro Players), and it is a bit of a behemoth (I am NOT a keeper) to lug around. Considering switching to the Pod One Tri-Wheel, which seems to be much more reasonable size (will save the Kook for touring). The only question I would have is re whites, spare clothes, jumper, and other random odds and ends (sunscreen, shades, etc) - do you just lump em in with pads etc? If so, don't the clothes stink up a bit by being next to sweaty pads? I guess, I could shove my helmet in the main section, and use the 'helmet' section for the clothes etc?

Hi Brokenbat I use the pod one bag, it is a good bat and a good size for all odds and ends, I use mine as you said with clothes in the separate compartment. great build quality as you would expect from Salix, might be able to pick up a cheap 2013 one with all the new kit coming out ?

I had one and found the bag struggled with it standing up. Just leans over. And you must be a brave man to use the bat cave. Positives are its a big bag and you can fit everything in and it's well made and feels sturdy although the stitching on mine came undone. I down sized and got a m&h t2 which fits everything inside including bats.

Just as an FYI, these are still Big! The measurements of the Pod One are 90cm x 38cm x 36cm, so you are saving 10cm in length, 2 in width and 4 in height.

I have the Warsop superior as a boot tidy with loads of spare kit, football boots and everything.

I use the Pod One as my cricket bag, and I like it, it's big enough, it needs to be full to stand up/lean, mine has been hammered for two seasons and the only issue is a bit of stitching near the bat cave, not sure why you need to brave to use the bat cave unless I've missed something.

For me it was a toss up between the Salix and the T2 and I went for the slightly smaller T2 which is still pretty big.

Rob, would the T2 fit a helmet and keeping gear or am I dreaming?!

Phil,depends if you put your bat/s in it as well. keeping pads possibly, helmet as well a definate no.

In mine goes 2 fully padded bats, pads, aero p2's. 2 pairs of gloves, wk gloves(no pads), whites/towel, drinks, shower bag etc.

I struggled to get my bats in, I would have to ram them in to get them fully in the bag. The only way to avoid this was to mt the bag first to put the bats in.

And herein lies a bit of confusion. From my layman�s perspective, the dimension difference is indeed rather small, but in terms of classification, the Salix Pod One Tri Wheeler is �medium sized� (per the itjustcricket review), whereas the Kook Pro Players is �deluxe� size!!

Right, however I would still describe the Pod One as "Large". The Pod Pro is medium (at 86cm long x 36cm high x 33cm wide). That fits in the boot of most cars comfortably. Once you start to add the extra length and girth, it become problematic.

And I'd never had a problem fitting two pairs of boots, two bats, a helmet, batting and keeping pads, both gloves, whites, towel, wash kit, etc in a pod pro, so how people can't get this in a T2, which is quite a bit larger, is beyond me!
