Its worth pointing out of the above list that Cam Gannon played for Sonning in D4 as well!

Few others  spring to mind - Jake Ball (now at Nottinghamshire) played for Wokingham and made the tailenders hop around (you could put this in the something to prove category - his first spell took a beating and he took it out on the less able).  Going back about eleven years Stoke Green had a Pakistani lad who'd played a few tests who was rapid, and a couple of years earlier still Danny Morrison scared people witless playing for Harefield.

They have gone and got some former Sri Lankan U19 all-rounder (Shameera Weerasinghe) - Standard Stroke Green. They do get some serious overseas when they have them.

Jake is at Notts? Wow. I really do not keep up with local cricket as much as I should. Yeah he was quick for a youngster. I'm also pretty sure he is Charlie French's nephew too?

I remember being injured and traveling down for Finch V Slough in 2007 to watch Nantie Hayward. Quickest bowler, with the shortest fuse, I have EVER seen. He must have clocked a few at 90mph. One went off the pitch for a one-bounce 4...

Gavin Tonge was playing for Finch though... Think there was a "You hurt one of ours, I'll hurt one of yours" atmosphere...!

An indian dude named varun khullar. Was an overseas player in our league last year.

He also won skys "shot at the pros". Not sure whats happened to him since, as there was rumours of visa issue when yorkshire actually tried to sign him.

Played West Indian cavs from Nottingham on the weekend. They had a young a South African that has apparently been clocked at 88mph.

Ended up with a small piece of memorabilia from the day..

Obviously he wasn't good enough to get me out - but he was rapid. His first ball to me was a bouncer that went for a one bounce 4 byes over my head. The keeper was closer to the sight screen than the pitch.

the guy at the other end cleaned me up due to his lack of pace in comparison...!!!

Chest pad time. Learnt that one against Charl Willoughby and Gavin Tonge a few years ago... Even if it spends 99% of the time in the bag, is a fantastic investment!

Faced 6 balls from Richard Logan in a T20. Didn't even get near him.

Logan played in my league up to this season (apparently gone to Dubai to help set up KP's academy) and he was quick!  We played at their place last year and I totally accidentally gave him a waist high full toss.  I came out to bat and got 3 bumpers on the trot!

Not the quickest in the league though... Tom Barber who plays for Hampshire Academy is the quickest.  Has opened the bowling for Eng U/19 and apparently has been clocked at 88 at the Ageas Bowl (although never quite sure of these camp-fire stories...)
