My 'current' 2014 bat selection
« on: January 25, 2014, 12:13:08 PM »

Morning All,

As I revealed back in my for sale post, due to my changing family situation, I am now limited to 6 bats.

Currently, this is what has made it into my 'rotation';

So I have;

A Red Ink Custom Made Limited Edition X1 (Amplus Shape - 2'9)
A Choice Cricket Praetorian Limited Edition with Vantage LE stickers (Previously Alex Hales' bat - 2'10)
A Laver and Wood Special Reserve (Standard Length - 2'9)
A B3 3-Stripe Bespoke Bat (Hades/Kudos Hybrid Shape - 2'9)
A Laver and Wood Special Reserve (Inch shorter blade, inch longer handle - 2'11)
A MB Malik LE Laminated Bat with Bulldog Stickers (2'11)

My question is... Are there any bats which should definitely be added to my rotation which are not already (What bat could I not do without)? :)

All suggestions welcome!

Nice selection mate, could you add a profile shot to your post for comparison? Is everything of a similar middle position / pickup?

You could argue there are so many lovely bats out there from both sponsors and retailers on the forum and other brands. Both top end (popped into vitas whilst passing yesterday and Jake was packing up a lovely dynadrive LE) and reasonably priced (such as the BAS bats Asad has at UZI). If it's grains that appeal I'm looking forward to seeing more of the bb gold edition. In truth budget permitting we'd all have a bat cave!

Nice bats mate! Which is the pick of the bunch?

That 3-Stripe sticker is a little different though. Did they run out and had to get creative?

Brought from Si May. They confirmed they ran out of stickers at the time! lol

I am getting a genuine 3-stripe sticker for it.

You'd have to ask the original purchases for the exact story. But from what I can remember,they had selected a cleft to make a 2stripe bat, but the clefts got muddled up and someone else ended up with that cleft. Original purchaser not happy with what was left, they ended up with a 3stripe bat as replacement at 2stripe price. But b3 sent it out with 2strioe stickers as that's what it sold for.
Somewhere between original purchase and now. It's ended up with an extra sticker on it, weather that was to show it was a 3stripe, or because someone wanted to command more money for it is the 2nd hand market, I can't say. You'd have to ask who applied it.

But yes very strange,

The only change is to get the Choice bat stickered as a Pretorian. As much as I love the Vantage branding, the Choice is much better, and it's true to the bat.

if you're tied to six, why keep a laminate that you can't use in games amongst them?

Its a net bat. Bit weightier and performs like a gun. I use it for technique and confidence really.

I can answer this I did by a two stripe but somehow they had double sold the cleft and up graded the bat .b3 was running very low on three stripe stickers and b3 said they send one out when their new stock came out then my custom affinity persona turned up and the profile are very alike and so decided to swap the b3 for a brand new blank bat I did show the buyer off the b3 the email to prove that it would be a be a 3 stripe David did send the single stripe sticker till they had enough hope that helps solve the matter
