My observation is Root was not a factor in the recent Ashes serious mainly because he didn't score runs or turn the strike over.

Just googled the card for that final... they were both dismissed (KP for 47 and Bedwetter for 63)

he has done it a couple of times looking to slap it over extra cover. 90% sure he did it in the final. I wanna say Starc got him but that could be a complete guess

Above linked scorecard says bowled johnston. So you could be right. Both left arm seamers.

This game will go 15 overs as a minimum (only because the pitch is slowing up so the scoring will slow down).

was close! MJ MS only one letter wrong!

i remember thinking at the time he should have just swung for it. even a toe end of an edge and he had a chance.

Think the fact that he was being messed about as to his role in a team getting hammered may have contributed to that.
