Really hope they think about this! Giles would be a disaster! Fresh faces needed throughout

Tom Moody please - with Paul Collingwood as batting/fielding coach (being groomed for the main job)

Thorpe won't do full time. Family commitments.

talk flower will be involved in ecb performance work at Loughborough.  Stephen Fleming, anyone?

Fleming probably earns more in 6 weeks at the ipl than he would coaching England. Don't see any of the ipl coach's in contention

They need to get this right or it'll be dark days for England

Question is, has Giles inherited a poor performing squad or is he just as much to blame as Flower?

we've just got this massively wrong and i dont care if i get pelters from fast eddie :) :)

flower should of stayed, yes our one day cricket needs a revamp, watching india v nz was like a different game just played on the same surface-grass

flower has done wonders for England and got us to number 1.

if it's a choice of captain to go or coach i'm sorry but Cook is not a natural captain
we need his runs far more than we need him to skipper

just my thoughts

Glad he has gone, right time to step down and replace with some fresh faces and ideas.

Hope to god Giles doesnt get the main job, or even keeps his current job, not a fan of what he has done with the ODI set-up and results have not been great, even worse has been some of the performances.

We need a similar character to Lehmann, someone tough and willing to make big calls and that has the players respect. I dont even have any respect for Giles as a player so how would anyone in the england set up

Problem is that the ECB have been grooming him to be the England Captain for the last 5 years. I doubt that they will throw that away after one bad tour...

Anyone perhaps been doing noticeably well in the county department recently?

The problem is who takes the captaincy if Cook doesn't do it? Unless you go down the Graeme Smith route and give it to Joe Root! Hasn't done Graeme Smith any harm!
