The amount of detailed work that goes into making a single glove or legguard is immense.

Just to give you an idea about labour costs when it comes to tailoring kind of work.
I paid 9 quids for my jeans to be altered, just length nothing fancy. I got the same job done on another pair for under a pound in India.

Hopefully George "Stretton" Fox will add some gloves and pads to his portfolio soon! This way they will be made in England!

Do you know something we don't??

This.

Even the very skilled are unable to make too many per day. Very very time consuming.

A lot of workers in India work from home- part time etc where these are actually made.

Pak is Still far behind when it comes to softs(although in the last couple of years they have improved.)

A couple of well known Pak brands are getting their top softs, stickers and grips made in India! Not all but their top range.

Surely there is a way to speed up production. There are so many parts to a glove yet need not be.

It can't be that labour intensive when you consider how many are made per year !

I think 3 sets of gloves is the most a skilled worker can make in one day

That's exactly what I meant - just goes to show how many people are making these.

There is not just factories making these. A lot of work is done by tons of people who do this in the background. Let me put it this way: there is at least TWICE as many part timers/ people working from home making these THAN the factories!

What I have been seeing recently I agree about pads but gloves think there just as good nowadays
