For me that's not Yorker damage. That would be the tell tale dent in the toe or split up the toe.

This could well have been a mistimed square cut the place where the damage is, it's one inch from the toe.

Call them up, tell them your bat has split about one inch up on the edge.

GM should take care of you, they are big enough to write this off. Looks like the willow is very dry. Might want to oil the edges and back of your bats when they are that dry...

Isn't the cherry on the toe guard enough  :D?

it didnt split where the cherry is, therefore its even worse in my opinion. You hit the ball in one place and it splits in another means there was something wrong, in this case it was very dry probably because of the plastic face

if it was me i'd offer a refund/swap

I was in owzat end of last season, and they and 3 broken octaves there that looked very very dry.

Are they over dried for there size? Or just people taking gm now as ready and mot oiling them at all?

Chuff me, there's enough batsmen moaning about Yorkers in the nets as though it were heresy. For most people playing club cricket, there is a nets session, where you bowl. You practice what you can in that. As a bowler, it would strike me that Yorkers would be a good thing to practice.

If you don't like it fine, but may clubs don't have the luxury of a dozen nets and multiple occasions a week, so berating bowling Yorkers seems a little unfair to me...

Now, back on topic!

So after having a phone call from GM saying my new bat was ready today I decided to
Go to Nottingham to pick it up directly! I have to give credit to gm they were pretty quick with this replacement and there was no hesitation to replace it for me! It's weighing in again at 2.8 and I have to say again this seems massive for the weight!
