I went on the B3 tour, purely to have a look at the setup and how things are done. With no intention of buying anything at all. But I couldn't leave this bat for Dave to get whittled down into a twig ;). Listening to what the B3 guys had to say about how and why they've started B3, you can truly see the passion they have for the industry and providing quality bits of wood. Russ has also developed some of the most comfy gloves I have ever put on, and thats a fair few to compare to! I think they will be around for a very long time, and nobody can challenge what they do at the moment. Anyway, the bat.

It's 2'10 bang on the nose, with double twine and a grip!

Oh man, that's lovely, seriously, that material for bat socks would be perfect, it's so darn soft! The bat isn't half bad either! ;) I take it that it will be making its way up to Scotland for someone to have a go with? :D

In all honesty, I'm gutted I couldn't come along, that bat looks ridiculously good! I'll try come along next time, it's a bit of a trek to go there from Glasgow, but I'm sure it will be worth it for the experience!

Righto, here is the 1 strip Dave let me have  :D

Can't remember all the story but this was for a customer and at the last minute they discovered a tiny tiny pressing crack. I couldn't see it without a microscope. Anyway some tapping up was done where we decided it certainly pinged well. It was in mine and Dave's weight range - 2'7 before stickers/grip and sealed the deal when I got a big discount :-) . To be fair I suspect Dave let me have it! The B3 guys did a bit of customising to meet my handle spec - it was bound twice on a thin handle but it needed a third bind on the lower half of the handle to be thick enough. They also changed the grip for me and added some scuff/tape. They honestly couldn't of been more helpful.

The final spec is 2'8.7 with stickers/scuff/tape and 1 chevron. It has a 36/37mm edge and around 60mm spine. The amount of concaving is absolutely minimal in the middle with some more gentle concaving near the shoulders and toe. It's a very "full" profile with the middle mid to high. For those interested it's not quite a flat face but a 3.5mm face, so slightly rounded. It has a slightly set forward handle. Early days but I netted with it tonight and while it needs a bit of playing in, some of the shots came off nicely.

It will no awards for looks but is a bloody good bat and to be fair performance wise that is going to be a very good bat indeed.

I did nearly buy it like the others but got enough for now.

Lovely bat bud and the bargain of the day at 50 per cent off because of a small crack.

Wasted on me tonight at nets, at least I know they knocked in the edges lol.  I'll get Reds to knock in the middle some more at nets next week.

It's a nice bat but I would still be willing to let it go if anybody was interested?

Who is the bald person with the beard?

This sounds like me!

Just got on properly after a long weekend.  Thanks to Dave for organising the event.  It was a very calm, relaxed and fun morning in which I learnt quite a bit.

It wasn't a selling atmosphere and the B3 guys were more than happy to answer any questions and were generally happy for us to poke our noses into anything and everything.

I ended up getting a bat (which I hadn't really expected to do), so will post up some pics in a minute or however long it takes me to remember how upload them!

Cheers again Dave
