ha ha... no Watto?

Smith batting below Johnson?  Some clubbie offspinner called Lion replacing the "world class" Nathan Lyon?

 ;)

To be honest Smilley all I see is Gerry giving his opinion which others don't seem to agree with yet it is HIS opinion... What I don't see is Gerry name calling like others are doing.

I don't know Gerry and am not biased towards him one way or the other I am telling it as I see it.

Everyone is allowed their opinion and not everyone has to agree.

I think Mcullum is a good player. I don't agree with Gerry. I don't see him as antagonising people... I see him as disagreeing

He puts his "opinions" over as facts.

He is subtle in his antagonistic way, in my opinion.

He picks points that he knows will cause debate (or argument) and posts it knowing he will get a response (or a bite).

To be honest, this board would be very dull if he wasn't here.

People need to get a bit of perspective in all this.

Infront of Steyn/Phillander/Broad/Anderson/Southee/Boult/Wagner? Thats a big call!

Would probably even pick Mohammed Irfan infront of Shami, he can and has cuased problems against good batsman!

After three days of considering this, I am still struggling - its usually pretty easy to get nine names on the sheet and then allow personal preference to fill in the other couple, but this year I can only really think of De Villiers, Ajmal, Steyn and Johnson who are locked on certainties on recent form - even Amla, who is the nearest to a fifth, is not having a great time of it.  That least vacancies for two openers, two in the middle order and a seamer, plus one either all rounder or second spinner...

Eek.

For what its worth, I would first went for:

Cook
Amla
Sangakkara
Clarke
De Villiers
McCullum
Philander
Johnson
Steyn
Herath
Ajmal

Before deciding that Cook barely deserved a place and that Herath was not much more of a threat than Lyon, which lead me to the more controversial:

Watson
Amla
Sangakkara
Clarke
De Villiers
McCullum
Du Plessis
Johnson
Philander
Steyn
Ajmal

Obviously Watto doesn't merit his spot per se but he has experience as an opener and I hate just playing four bowlers.

The two hardest done to guys here are Harris and Broad, who could both run Philander close.

Some very strange decisions made here. Baring in mind the team is supposed to be made up from players in the best form lately/currently.
Amla and Smith aren't having the best of times, Watson as well just to name a few

I couldn't put 11 players in my own team as too many people to consider. I'd end up with 15 at least
