yeah but they werent and still chased down 189!! which in any conditions is tough!!

anyway nz are now 6 down for 33 this has been impressive by Sri Lanka and after the crushing of holland as well

Maybe this speaks more highly of Holland rather than lowly of NZ & Eng??

Not tough with a heavy dew and on a flat pitch.

against kulasekera (the best t20i seamer in the world), lasith malinga, and senanyake and ajantha mendis, although mendis had a shocking evening england have always had issues against "mystery" spin is no mean feat.

yeah it probably does show more about holland than the others, they ave been very hot and cold this tournament

When they couldn't grip the ball  and wasn't any turn due to the dew?
not such a great feat given the highest successful t20 chase (211) is against the same team.

Maybe England aren't use to high chases that's why you rate it. Pointless given that they didn't even make it to the semi's

Reminds me of Bucks v Somerset about 20 years ago. They played it at High Wycombe and Bucks ground out 150 odd. Somerset came in and simply found the track too slow. Before they knew it they had popped up catches left right and centre, 22-5 or something. Some 2nd XI lad then nearly rescued it before Bucks recorded a giant killing. Moral of the story is sometimes a track can be a great leveller - Holland v Eng. Holland deserved it but sometimes even the (supposedly) good teams have to knuckle down. Sometimes a team more use to the conditions (Sri Lanka) can render a team like NZ shotless. Judging by the scores it wasn't the best track for t20 cricket.

Given the conditions now in this tournament now, its probably going to be a all Sub continent final.
Don't see west indies beating Pakistan tomorrow given how poor west indies are against spin

Given how short the tournament is and that there are only 2 venues (someone correct me if I'm wrong) the pitches are getting worn out extremely fast it seems. Judging by the scores yesterday they're practically rugby pitches! It'll probably be a low scoring slugfest in the semis and the final, the team most able to play boringly will win it :P

England's batting has been helped by poor conditions, meaning more crap has been bowled. It's not rocket science to have. Priced that. I think some people genuinely thought eng were good!

Giles out
ECB out
Analysts out
Coaches out
Broad out (capt anyway)

National game is a shambles
And Pietersen in? Sorry to ressurect this but how divisive can an individual be in the T20 team? It's hardly as if he'd have had time to disrupt the changing room if that is what you'd call those duggouts. His age should have little effect on his longevity as we're still a stronger side with than without him, and managed right in this format he could go on for years. Plus, if T20 is the poor cousin to the longer formats as seems to be the implication by the comparative lack of focus given to it, couldn't the ECB have managed the situation by saying to KP 'your batting in the long format is too cavalier, if you can't rein it in, we're going to have to put you where that kind of batting belongs... As the preserve of T20 squad. Bringing Pietersen back would at least be less humbling than finishing second from bottom and after being beaten by the bottom team in the table. The ECB got the result it deserved. Sadly England and Wales do not have the cricket boards they deserve.

Add to that the SL and Pak tour of Bangladesh and the asia cup on these pitches. The women's semi's and finals are also due to be played before the men's. 120 could even be a good score in the finals.

Aussies seem to have lost the plot, on a spinning track not playing any front line spinners and dropping hodge (another part time spinner). Maybe Lehmann protesting about the squad selected.
Embarrassing to get carted around by Bangladesh

if they are out then they probably don't really care. Similar to England vs the Clogs, already out = can't be bothered so I'll just go through the motions

Australia have been criminal in this world cup ;-)

England aren't a great team and inconsistent is the best you could say about them. Nobody thought they would do much and it ended in a real mess. However, Australia were many people's pre-tournament favourites and they have just about done everything possible to get knocked out. Massive chokes, crap selections, complete lack of common sense and an total inability to even embrace the conditions. Would cheer me up no end if they were turned over today.

yep. It is England though. I've given up thinking they'll select the right people tbh. They've shown themselves incapable of planning for the future, nurturing talent or even helping the game of cricket.
