Bat Test We Hosted Recently
« on: March 19, 2014, 12:30:49 PM »

Some of you may have seen me mention a bat test we hosted recently for a local sports and lifestyle magazine. A few people have requested to see the results. They are available via the following link, on page 29. Wes Durston of Derbyshire was the lead tester, it was a pleasure to share a couple of hours talking bats with him.

There are a couple of errors, namely the spelling of Gray Nicolls and also a pricing error on an Icon 808.

or a time out ISSUU even?!  ;)

I didn't get the same issue, but would liked to have seen a few more brands featuring in the test...

Would be a bit expensive for vitas to put on if they had more bats... Lots of used bats otherwise

We only had a brief window to work with Wes, and the whole thing was organised quite last minute, hence the modest selection of brands.

Good exposure there Jake, i thought the selection of brands was pretty varied, could easily gone down the route of the cricketer and only done "popular" big 5/6 brands so i thought it was nice to get some others in there

Great exposure in what looks to be a really smart publication. As for the bats on test, I think you've picked some good ones and given a varied choice.

Congrats on the feature, nice exposure for you.
Scary that a "mid range" bat can cost £285 though!

Yes that is the pricing error as mentioned. An 808 costs about £100 less than that.

Interesting that a GM 606 can perform as well as a GM Original LE?

Do GM price on looks/grains over performance?

I'm pretty sure that is how GM have always graded. Always looks. After all, that's how they buy the willow in.
