Which bat is this?
« on: March 21, 2014, 07:47:19 PM »

Hello guys,
I recently bought some bats off ebay and this is one of them. It has Spyder Venom stickers on it and "V3" engraved on one of the shoulders.Looking at the profile I am assuming that this is an old bat. It has only 20mm edges, no concaving and 10 lovely straight grains. I would classify it as a G1 willow. It surprisingly weighs 2.9lbs and has a lovely ping (honestly,I was surprised by it's ping).

Will be trying it in the nets tomorrow and excited to see how it goes.

I was hoping that you experts could shed some light on who the maker is. The seller said it could be an old Slazenger. TIA

There were some Slazenger V3 Cricket bats for the Aus market a couple of years ago.
Could be one of them..

I would have said its a Newbery Mojolnir. The thinner edge, the duck bill toe, the stamp on the shoulders is the best indicator for me but I don't know how many other brands do this.

It's a fair way off that one. I've got the new one at home.

It almost looks home made.

A front on photo of the shoulder area would help me decipher whether this is a hunts. Though I don't remember seeing a v3 shoulder stamp. Thinking about it, I'm not sure they shoulder stamp their bats at all....?

If you're in Melbourne, Eastern Indoor Sport's inhouse brand is Venom something, could be that.
