B3 bespoke. spend the 200 to test out a revolutionary design - then spend a lot more to get it in top grade. slippery slope.

I would probably get a H4L G2 or a B&S Scorch, plenty of value for money in the mid ranges from TON and Kookaburra too. I've picked some belting 5 star Gray Nicolls bats, but seen plenty of less impressive ones too. The GM 808 range is arguably some of the best value for money out there.

In short, if you have 200, and you aren't buying blind, you are more than likely to get a very good bat and a bit of beer money left over.

I understand Solitaire have had fairly bad press in the past with weight issues(but he now has digital weights) and their website isn't exactly up to date - but for a completely UK handmade Grade 1 bat, you cannot go wrong for £150! Which you can also arrange to watch the bat being made which he does all himself. Pressing, Handling, Shaping, Finishing - you name it.

I'd skip down to IJC counting my cash, spend two hours playing with every bat Paul has for under £200 and then try to persuade him to flog me the Willostix Spitfire for £200 - love the decals on it.

Failing that Solitaire, Red Ink and H4L would al get a call to see what could be done for £200.....

H4L G2 or a M&H Original (low or high) would be good choices.

I'd probably go for one of Mr Aldred's beauties.
