Any hope for these bats?
« on: April 02, 2014, 04:44:21 PM »

Though I got a couple of new bats this season. I was wondering if there is any hope for these old friends. Hoping to do a repair myself and would love to get your advice on these.

Please advice on things such as glue, thread, tape and the tools I'd be needing to do the repair. I'm not too much worried about messing these up any further and am treating this as my first learning project.

Reebok is really messed up. Yes, I kill bats by crushing their toes.

Thanks.

Was just going to say that! It has always been my favourite Kookaburra shape, closely followed by The Beast. Ah, back in the days when I knew nothing about this forum... :-[

Yes it's a nice bat with great profile but in desperate need of a repair.

Smilley792, is there a disposal fees?

Yeah I picked this up back when Ricky Ponting was using one.

So I picked up from other thread that I need PVA, a clamp and some cardboard.

Will try this out.

Thanks all.

You dont need a clamp for the kookaburra. What would you be clamping?

The crack needs to be soaked with watered down pva and left to set, it there are deep cracks/dents you could then fill them with a PVA/sawdust mixture to create a wood filler. Sand smooth and done.

The Reebok would need a clamp, it looks a pretty big job and i would question whether it was even worth it.

Yeah agreed no need for clamp on kook and reebok is mostly going to be a waste of time. I just wanted to try and fix reebok for fun cause of the Bat Flu I got after joining the forum.
