First game for my new club, Truro 2nds. Absolute shocker of a pitch, but they put on 158 thanks to a good knock by the opener who batted through for 83, with a little luck and a lot of patience, and a knock of 39 that was half classy, half sheer dumb luck! I bowled my 12 overs for 30, should've had a few wickets but not to be! In reply we were dire, 63 all out, 7 of those being stupid shots chipped to fielders. I was 4* at the end, so not a bad day personally but a shocker for the team! Oh well, on to next week...

second game of the season is our annual memorial game with a trophy afterwards which we managed to win this year. very happy with my bowling 2 overs 3 wicket for 2 runs. the guy bowling the other end have 3 wicket maidens in a row so we managed to clean up the tail nicely.

batting only got ten and completely missed a straight ball we managed to win with 6 wickets and 5 overs to spare

more importantly it was the first game on our new ground

Had a decent run out today.
8 overs, 4 maidens, 1 - 12 and took two catches (a one handed Worldie and a skyer) in our last proper pre season friendly.

We restricted the opposition to 181 - 7 off 40 and chased them down for 6 with 12 overs remaining. DNB for me as I did something to my back going for a catch. Hopefully it'll be okay for me to play in an intra club mess about tomorrow!

Played today at Weston and we won the toss and bowled first on a green deck and we bowled them out for 44 and I took 4 wickets and was on a hatrick and we polished off the run and then went down the pub for a pint :P

Won in the first round of the cup. Didn't bat, bowled 7 overs for 43, close lbw shout in my first over, dropped catch behind in my third. Bowled well but didn't turn as much as yesterday, a couple of wides that if they spun like yesterday would have at least hit the pads or turned further. Also bowled my first no ball in about five years, top spinner that slipped out! Something to work on methinks

Bit embarrassing loss yesterday. We batted first and made 107 all out. I top scored with 34. Extras was next top scorer. They won in 25 overs having lost just one wicket.

First ever duck opening the batting on Saturday against poo, did get a game changing run out though to sort of make up for it. 64* on Sunday but felt really really bad. Very strange weekends cricket for me. Two enjoyable games for all 4 teams though which is the important factor.

Bat second Tom!! They like to chase and are very able to chase 300. They have no bowling either so it makes pacing your chase easier. Just my 2p's worth buddy.. Enjoy.  Might drive over at watch a few overs

Small ish ground, usually one longish and one short boundary with easy ish straight hits too. Good batting track normally too. Nice ground over all tbf. What time is it due to start ?

Both league games were cancelled this weekend but I managed it find a friendly to play in for a mates team. I opened the batting and hit 53, only 2 x 4 and 1 x 6. A lot of 2's and 3's!

Should have got a ton, bowling was nothing special, I had so much time to pick my spot and smash the ball but I slapped it straight to cover.

Bowled 5 overs for no wickets and about 6 runs.

First win of the season on Saturday! I was happy with my bowling figures of 9-2-28-1, beating the bat with the new cherry on a lifeless pitch. A nice slower ball bowled their number 3 and should of had one of their openings out but point put down an absolute dolly.

Also picked up a catch and a second ball duck!  >:(

Can someone please explain your points scoring? I hear talk of losing but gaining points.....? We play 40 over matches with just a simple 5pts for a win and that's it.
