Batted first yesterday and posted 229 all out (0* from myself).
Then bowled them out for 198, myself taking 3-28 off 9.5 overs.

Opposition called the game off 45 minutes before the start so had a hastily arranged intra club game.
Bowled 3 overs taking 3-9, then scored 50 before missing a straight one (bought it up with a beauty of a cover drive!)
Worst thing about it, the game won't go on the stats!  :( at least I can tell everyone I scored a 50 I suppose...

Finally got some games in.

5 played on to my thigh pad, then foot and on to the stumps! Thought my season was going to be a disaster
50* chasing 94
20 retired hurt, pulled something in my hip
66* chasing down 134 in 16th over in a 20-20

After a bad start I'm doing ok considering it's over a year since I held a bat due to injury. After the first game it felt awful so I have gone back to basics and remodelled my grip, stance and backlift .... AND NO TRIGGER MOVEMENT :(

Seems to have worked well. Always nice/good to go back to basics now and again and look at these three very important aspects of batting

Pah, ever feel like you're not being missed?

Our development side got bowled out for 124 in the Fullers League yesterday, then bowled out Shepperton 3XI for 11!

Unfortunately lost yesterday in not a great game of cricket, won the toss and batted and batted on what looked like a rock hard road of a track, turned out to be a 2 paced up and down track,

Personally fell for 9 to a shocker of a lbw, outside the line 4ft down the track oh and I smashed the granny off it into my calf as well. We scored 149 all out from 34overs

Then had there top bat stumped by about 2-3ft for the umpire to say "unlucky he just made his ground but it was close" he was closer to the bowler than his own crease and. They knocked it off for 5 wickets in 39 overs.

Played against Callum Thorp today who played for Durham, scarily good, could easily get a gig in county stuff still!

My team doing well , Top of the league after 7 games , 6 wins with one rained off . Top of the league with a clear lead.

Personally 2 fifties and few twenties, much better than horrible last season.

Had 1 yesterday. Was at the non-strikers backing up, the batsman on strike creams it straight, bowler gets a touch and it hits the stumps before my dive gets me in.

Had an odd game Saturday. Oppo (Shipston) batted first on a nice white deck and for 6 overs the ball swung, they were 10-1 and struggling. The ball just stopped swinging at that point and the oppo racked up 233-8 off 45. It was only par on a big outfield and good deck. We trot out to bat and for the entire innings the ball hooped round corners. Getting a bat on it was bad enough, let alone scoring. Crumbled to 100 ao. This ground has form - last year we did something similar to them and ran out easy winners, just seems to move around early evening. Took 3-25 off 8 and played ok for 9 until I lost patience chasing the improbable total and was c&b.

Sunday, played for the Vets and we had the better of a draw. Developed a new ploy to getting my way at the toss. Went to toss, called heads and it came down tails. Said to their skipper "we'll have a bat" and to my surprise he said ok :-). Going to try that every time I lose from now on!. Another white track but didn't play as well and 200-9 wasn't a bad effort. Wasn't quite coming on and the bounce was a little low. Pretty much bowled an entire innings of spin against the oppo and they managed 131-9. Managed 14 with the bat at the end of our innings and 9-3-12-1 with the ball. Nice to play cricket in the sun with old friends. Cookham Dean Over 40's in 2 weeks time.

Great game last week on a fairly slow track - scored 76 our of 181 and skittled oppo for less than 100 - great performances all round.

Contrast that to Saturday.  Admittedly had some players out but ended up chasing 175.  Was out for 0 first over, playing on - no excuses, poor shot away from my body.  Triggered a collapse to 18-5, then 88 all out.

Worst of all was some of our players attitudes.  Some drinking beer before the game in the clubhouse, couple more sat drinking when at least one should've volunteered to field at square leg.  Thankfully, the skipper's slaughtered them...

Great game Saturday, if you were a bowler or opening bat. Bowled the oppo out for 107 then knocked them in 12 overs. Good day apart from wearing one on the collarbone fielding at short point to our spinner, spent a lovely morning in a&e Sunday with all the other local sports injuries
