Have used the Combi grip and can vouch for the comfort and grip it offers. extremely different to the GM ripple grips aswell.
Good review mate.

Bat looks a big piece of wood for 2.8. I wonder if these have extra drying? A lot of heartwood in it though. Not that I mind heartwood.

Only issue with the review is on the gloves you say "great levels of protection" and "the bat doesn't twist in your hand due to grip provided" but then you say you've never used them in a game or a net? So not sure how you can judge either?

Look forward to a follow up review once you've had a game with them to see if the above statements are correct.

Thanks for the reply mate,
i have owned xtrax gloves in the past and have used combi grips in the past so i know the feel and know that the bat doesn't twist. I also said with regards to protection that they look to have ample protection.

The bat and grip combination has been tested. I can stand there holding the bat and getting someone to twist the bat and the bat does not spin.

Hope that all makes sense mate

This has to be the most ridiculous way I have ever heard to see if a bat twists in your hands... Completely nothing like bat on ball. Maybe get a ball pein hammer and get someone to hit the edges with it while you hold it in your hands and see if it twists :( ???

correct it isnt like a ball on bat. But just try it for yourself with a pair of leather palms and a normal grip. the bat will turn. If you really want to think about it you could get more force by trying to twist than a ball hitting it so if the bat doesnt twist when trying to twist it wont when a ball hits

I'd like to see moi torque readings as opposed to someone twisting it in your hands but hey everyone uses their own ideas to determine the perceived outcome

Never had a bat twist in your hand when batting John...you dont while using these gloves. As i said in the video, i havent used this particular pair of gloves but have used xtrax palms and i know it doesn't happen. But really must will struggle to comprehend this as it is not the norm

I bet you I could hold the bat and stop it from twisting when most people are trying to twist that bat - basically because I have very strong arms and wrists!! When a ball makes contact with a bat, you are holding the bat completely differently and the top hand is normally firm but relaxed with the bottom hand loose!
Therefore its not the best way to test a bat and gloves as they are different conditions and circumstances!
It's best not to try and be too clever - just keep the tests relevant?

The point is mate that the material stops the twisting, i agree it is a different way of testing but as i have not had a net i cant test it properly, i am trying to make do.

The test isn't relevant. I would have said,"I have used this gloves before and they didn't twist at all. And these gloves have now been improved so should be even better!"
I have an older pair which are great quality so do rate the gloves highly.

Is your call mate, i think it does have relevance as you can put more force through twisting the bat and really if you can twist a bat in your hands with dry leather....what will happen when sweat gets in there.
I will back Lekka all day everyday, I am yet to be let down
