Uzi pro bats are very very nice

A visit to Paul Aldred is highly recommended, watching him make my bat was amazing and the bat is bespoke to me

Spend some of that money on coaching, bump up the batting order by 3 places, then earn back the money spent on coaching and invest £300 on a bat. ;)

You are really spoilt for choice on this forum. £150 is more than enough to get a really top quality bat if you look carefully. The boys at B3 really are churning out some quality bats, I've had 2 pass through my hands, one which I've still got and the other my friend bought off me. They are both 1 stripes, (Grade 3) but play superbly. If you are looking for a Grade 1 bat, I think Vitas Cricket can source you a lovely Hunts County Grade 1 Custom for £165!

In all seriousness, some one on one coaching does help tons. I have a friend who didn't just work on grooving out shots with me, but helped me think about how to manoeuvre the field placings and remove the slips, so I could milk 1's and 2's via my strongest shots. I'm afraid we can't all score boundaries at will like Dhoni, Gayle and AB!

Set yourself a budget, and decide for yourself what kind of a profile and grade you want, and what kind of branding you like. Sounds crazy, but I believe the look of the bat to the user can make a psychological difference for most people. :)

Hi,

I'm a beginner to the game, I have just started playing cricket. I am a beginner, and the bat that I am currently using is outdated as I've had it since 2006, also it has cracks and has been exposed to water, while also been heavy (I don't know the weight, but compared to the others at the club it's heavier).

So where's best place to buy a cheap, good, English willow light bat? It doesn't matter whether it's new or used, weight around 2lbs 6oz-2lbs 8oz. Looking at the price range of around £30-90.

I've seen a few on ebay but I'm likely to get outbidded or not be around when the bidding ends.

Msr are ideal as have a bat in everyone price range but you need to know what sort off weight off bat you want and middle position will depend on what you strongest shot

Hate to self promote our stuff but we can make you what you want.

I wouldn't spend that much the butterfly bats are decent and at £125 your getting a bargain .

We make all our own bats and vary in price from the butterfly at £125 to £400 for the much sought after super light clefts. There are some great company's and individual makers on here if you need advice about our bats or any other I'm willing to help you mate I have owned most of the stuff of here .

With regard to Chads point the visual look of bats and the psychological effect they can have i sold my Aldred butterfly that I brought in February as although it pinged because of its looks i did not feel right with it at the crease. Barmy I know.
