2014 broken bats thread!
« on: May 08, 2014, 12:07:25 PM »

So not far into the season. And I've broke my first bat.

A ton heritage, the handle has clean snapped, only the binding keeping it together.

Quick video

Anyone else had serious damage in 2014??

Went to play a drive, didn't sound right, so had a feel and it was wobble. Wasn't a particularly quick bowler, did try to hit it hard, and the ball wasn't a bat breaker.
First handle that's gone on me.

Thankfully i bought it from a forum sponsor, so I am being looked after, and a re handle has been offered.

Pleased that you are being  being looked after i guess it is one of the benefits of being a formite.

I would think that the retailer would provide this kind of service to their other customers. The advantage of buying from a reputable retailer. ;)

I've found the TON and the Puma Platinum handles to be super flexible this year, which aids in feel, but it does sacrifice the longevity of the handle... :-[

My plain net bat had a crack running right next to the splice for a while and gave up the ghost a couple of weeks back.  It lost all the power,  was only a cheapy so not worth getting it repaired and has now been replaced

You can see the crack I put in my Six6 in these pictures.

Note to self - don't try and smash bat breakers in the nets, this happens!
