Ok, As I've read some of us have more bats than we ever use/need. Some of these bats would fall into the sentiment category, that we just can't part with even though they are relics/planks/busted. I'm just the same and recently set up my few trophies and memorabilia in my shed, but the bats are still in the cupboard. I will probably never throw them out (except for the cracked Bradman Ridgeback I chucked in the fireplace one cold night  ) so I thought I may as well display them on the wall.

Has anyone got any examples of what looks good. I can think of using nails to sit them on angles, shelving, but if anyone has some classic ways to hang / display bats please share.

How many bats have you got to display?

Many museums have a collection of bats, standing side by side on a rack. This looks good to my eye - neat and symmetrical. You could simply make a shelf for them to stand up on and it wouldn't take much (if anything) to keep them upright.

Alternatively, if you have two or three, how about displaying them horizontally - one above the other (think an old style gun rack, above a fireplace)?

Funnily enough I have a workshop at home that I use to refurb and have been using to practise my pod shaving skills and I am in the process of using one end to stock my bats for the winter so basically like a shelf that they can all sit in. The workshop is insulated so should be fine so store them in during the wet winter.

I have seen beech  display cabinets for cricket bats for sale with glass door brass hinges led lights and keys around six inches wide and three feet  long with fasteners around 40.00.

I'm only talking about  a few, but when I finish playing in a few years it will be 6 or so....

I also ATM moment am doing refurbs for teammates as a hobby and want to use the same system to keep those bats safe and away from kids. It needs to be practical so the bats can be easily taken down and it's in a shed so it doesn't need to be too fancy.

 I've seen in videos bats hung by their tags, or handles, but I'm not sure how the hanger is constructed. It will make a good project to build it myself.

I guess at the end of the day a bat is built to be held, not just displayed. What do others have in their workshops or sheds.

This is what I have at home, didn't make it myself but bought it 2nd hand off ebay for a tenner

At Mongoose we just had a number of very heavy duty long bolts put into the wall, and then hung them with fabric looped under the grip

I covered the fake sticker on my eBay Franken-mod-20/20 bat. Thanks for all the great input. When I build a proper version I'll repost.

Maybe length of wood and measure out an hole saw for the handle

Almost done. Some corners for hanging and some varnish and it's done. Might also add some foam to protect the blade.

I've designed it so the bats can be also stored face up when oiled. Good for when I do the occasional refurb.

I read that they are supposed to be stored that way.
