Grade 1? Rubbish.

Why the harsh posts? Why not...it's a forum for cricket lovers opinions, both positive and negative. I think we can all voice a fair opinion.

Grade 1? Rubbish.

Why the harsh, arguably hostile posts? Why not...it's a forum for cricket lovers opinions, both positive and negative.

I never said these were grade 1, i said it could be argued that the bat i pictured meets the G1 criteria from JS Wright.

JS Wrights grade 1 criteria:

''There may be some red wood evident on the edge of the bat (up to 1.75 inches).  The grain on the face will be straight and there will be a minimum of 6 grains visible.  There may be the odd small knot or speck in the edge or back but the playing area should be clean.''

I will stress again. THERE IS NO INDUSTRY STANDARD GRADING SYSTEM. Grading is simply opinion, every willow merchant/brand/bat-maker has a different grading system and there are no regulators certifying/enforcing what grade is what.

This is my last post on the matter. We launched the product to meet the needs of a local market, we have achieved our aim to good response. I shared pictures with the forum in case there was anyone else out there lusting after an Affinity without quite having the £325 required to own one.

In this thread Affinity's pressing is said to be great, I also read it in other places so no reason to doubt that.

I'm not a kit badger so this is a genuine question. Do they press them or not? I know they make some of them, so it's not a question going down that route.
