GCCC actually do some decent video reviews of the new kooka, puma and GN bats and gear on YouTube. Short and succinct.

Went to the store yesterday, and the mogul picked up really really light. There was also a GN colossus that picked up insanely light for a 3lb 2 bat, compared to the 3lb 3 f18 XL that was there.

I went into the East Sydney store the other day and saw an amazing Steve Smith signature V100, GN Legend and some of the GM Moguls looked great too (based on looks and pick up only).

There is a lot of ordinary gear in there but a few gems too, albeit with significant price tags.

Yep, that legend looked great. 13 clean, straight grains.

Went into GCCC Adelaide for training a couple of weeks ago and they said Spartan was making the V100 they are stocking.

They've also Concaved the bubble...

Patriot is exclusive to "big" stores.

So Kooka has burst our bubble yet again... boom tish. ;)

I'm pretty sure GCCC had direct input into the design of the Patriot range and I think it's also sold at Meulemans, but not at Kingsgrove. Kooka's stickers look really good - I was a fan of last year's Midas colours in particular. I would have liked them to continue with that vintage feel with the Midas range by introducing a traditionally shaped bat. Perhaps an opportunity lost.

When I popped into GCCC a few weeks ago I noticed a whole new(?) range of fully profiled GN bats and a range of "custom" bats that have supposedly been had crafted by Stuart Kransbueler.

There were quite a few people congregated around the new Colossus, F18 and Matrix models and the budget end Elite and Ultimate custom bats. Like a few others at the shop, I liked the F18's SS's extra short handled bat. Has anyone tried it yet? Would like to know how it goes.

I don't think any of these bats (custom and new range) have oval handles, which is something of a personal requisite of mine. Still, it shows that GN are more on the ball than Kooka in regards to keeping up with bat making trends - fuller profiles and "custom" made bats seem to be making a resurgence :)

Tried a few of the new gray nicolls at the shop the other day, gee the handles feel tiny in them this year.

The kookaburras are so heavily concaved that I thought I would cut myself because the spines were so sharp

Big market for light bats, Kids these days are so tall. they need the height but not the weight.

Speaking of light, I managed to snaffle a Maestro pro weighing 2lb 5oz, 40 mm edges, full shape. I love the flat face, can't decide between the mogul and this, both rippers. Best season ever for GM for me.
