I didnt start playing cricket until 5 years ago.
I grew up playing a good standard of rugby and football, and doing martial arts! So I didn't have time for any more sport!!!
But 5 years ago I started playing for a decent village side and batting at no.11.
But my average (year on year) has gone 0, 1, 7, 12, and this season just under 30. And have moved up to bat at no.5 or 6. And occasionally no.2.
We also play a twenty20 friendly league mid week, although ?I have just done my level 2 coaching, so didnt have too much opportunity between coaching for mid-week matches last year!!
So not a great standard compared to alot of people on here, but I am still learning the game. And am a stubborn git who is always determined to do things well. So will keep going until I am too old, or move onto something else!!

The pics were taken by Gary (from Redback) and he sent them to me today.
So not sure what the shirts are. But if you ask him, he wil prob tell you.

OK cool.

Since I joined this forum about 6 weeks ago, I could easily have bought about 20 bats (and have now bought 2!)- the custom made boys stuff looks amazing, I have to say...

I like the look of some of the bats. But as soon as I saw some of the pics of the Redback bats, I couldn't resist!!
If this bat goes like it looks, it going to have to be in the main kitbag alongside the Screaming Cat and Laver!!!
Wisden rated Redback so highly in their 2009 kit test too!! They stated something like "goes like a barn door in a gale!" and evidently the test bat had to be prized out the testers hands, as they didn't want to give the bat back!
So I suspect that once I get this bat, it won't be going anywhere but in my hands!!

They are signed shirts from various sponsored players (the players actual shirts)

Hey - I wonder if any of the players from this forum will eventually have success at a good level (such as County) and sign you a shirt?

Are there any players on this forum likely to progress to anywhere close to County level????

Cool - I get the impression that there are some decent players on the forum!

And I will take lots of pics and do a review when it arrives - it should be waiting at home tomorrow when I get home!
It almost feels like Christmas!

Looks awesome pete, I've been looking to buy a redbackk for sometime now, and I want a similar profile to yours, although I would go with the surefire stickers! Have you used your beast yet mate?

Am waiting for it to arrive. Gary takes a couple of pics and then sends the bat off. Should arrive tomorrow - and the profile looks good.
I will take some clearer photos when I review it.
Let me see what its like first, and will let you know what the pick-up and feel of the bat is like. And if you like the sound of it, you will know which profile to order.
And I was undecided about the labels too, but the black lebels won (only just) - personal preference I guess.

If you want, I will be happy to let you know once I have got the bat?

OK - it's arrived! It is a gorgeous looking bat too.
I guess I had better dig the camerqa out and write an initial review!!
So will see if I can start that tomorrow - so watch the review section in the next day or two!

Ok - have been a little occupied with work and family stuff.

But I will promise to do it this week!
I will take some nice pics of the bats too, for those who like a bit of bat porn!  ;D

The Redback is a beaut of a bat and I will try not to leave any detail out!
