Asics poor build quality

I only brought these on 29th June so with the weather around this summer I doubt I've worn these 10 times
I also only use them to field in so not had much wear




Had asics before but never seen do this before

Are they made in Vietnam or China?  I had the same problem with my Asics running shoes...Made is China is still going strong and very comfortable, but new pair of made in Vietnam are not as good compare to the older version.

That is a surprise, especially as they aren't cheap! I've never had a single issue with Asics in about 16 years of trainers and cricket shoes

any chance you put them in the washing machine to clean them because you cant do that to asics shoes

I never had Asics cricket shoes, but I noticed the quality difference in my Asics running shoes...newer ones are made in Vietnam and they are not as good as the older model made in China, even the fitting was off.

No not done that the other shoe is fine
I did notice when I got them that the glue was applied poorly
Like I said just used for fielding only I don't bowl so no toe drag either
I shall send back and see what they say

The rubber sole on mine has started lifting. The only thing keeping the back corner in place is the screw in studs.

Not sure if this is the case here or not, but there are cases where 'original fakes' (I'll explain the term) make it onto the market.
Essentially Asics put out their tender for a set of shoes. The successful bidder, fills Asics order, but then makes a second run of shoes themselves, not taking quite as long on their quality assurance (as there isn't Asics to check it before payment) and then flips them as fakes (but made out of the same factory and mostly the same materials as the original) for a bigger profit to them.
They look identical and basically are. Never quite sure unfortunately.
