The only way to net midweek if the club won't is for you to organise it. If people come, then great, but if not, then the club was right.
Fundamentally though, if you disagree with something not being done, do it anyway. You can only be proved wrong.

It's down to cost and Ability.
We have a club, with an artificial, and a Roll on net, unfortunately our new expensive hand mower now sits in it's way. And as we apparently "can't be trusted" with this mower(ironically the groundsman broke the last one). We can only have nets organised by the club, so the mower is arranged to be moved and returned after.
The "club organised nets" don't happen.
This then means you need to go indoors, which costs money, need enough cars to get people there(not everyone drives or lives near an indoor net), and are generally not good for sat practice as the bounce is ridicolous.
Last few seasons nets were regular, even with 3 people and a side arm pro. This year, they have been non existent, and our form, has suffered because (worse season in 5 years, only 3 50s scored for the 1st xi, no trophy in the entirely club for first time in 5 years).
Ironically the chairmen just sent an email round asking us for thoughts on why our season has been bad, with the views off the committee on the end. They have blamed it on "heavy bats" and the want to hit sixes instead of building an innings.
Strange as stats have 6s and 4s percentage against overall runs, down on previous years.
