Edward

I know I'm in the minority here but why do gm not do long blades as I used a hero happily for years but now I have switched to long blade with my height I have been unable to use gm anymore?

Hi Roco - we can do, of course, but need to make more than 1 in a batch. When we look at our stats, whilst we absolutely understand that there is a demand for different configurations, it is very modest and very splintered. Just supply and demand I'm afraid - in truth, not many of our pros use such an option and they all seem to be getting taller!

Kind regards

Edward

I thought as much

Shame really but I understand the business thinking behind it

Thanks for taking time to answer the questions

The first cricket box was used in 1874.  The first cricket helmet was introduced in 1974. So, it took 100 years for men to twig that their brains were also worth protecting.

That surprises me a little, here in Australia our LB sales seem to be ever increasing.

as a devout user of long blades or handles, it saddens me that so many manufacturers no longer seem to make them, though I suppose Edward makes a reasonable point if there is so little demand.  Out of interest though, how has that demand changed over the years?

I'm still a bit confused about grading. Wood with colour on one edge is classified Grade 2 by GM; yet such willow is clearly what many pros have favoured in recent times.

What is the minimum batch run? I fancy a long blade sigma and would love to know how many I'd need to buy to get long blades...

Edward, are the original gloves (light blue) exactly the same for 2015 as the ones for this season? They look the same but wondered if there were any slight differences?

Thanks for the answer. Given that nowhere seems to be reducing the 2014 version just yet I'll order the 2015 version from jake. Out of interest what weight impact (positive or negative) does the poron have?

Great thread and great new range by GM.

Personally I loved the Zona (shape as well as look)- the earlier person has hit the nail on the head. "Zona was too much change for one model". It picked exceptionally well for a bottom heavy bat. In hindsight Zona in six6 colors would have been perfect. 2020 vision now and all that. Appealing to the young ones and the bit older ones(young at heart) too!

We get long blades here in Australia, not sure hat the issue is in the UK.

I can understand if someone is pretty tall but here in Australia there is an extra fascination with Long Blades and long handles as well.  "She's easier on the back maaaete!" Lol

So GM long blades are available in Australia but not in UK?

Not surprisingly, a fair few GMs being used in the notts v yorkies match, have to say they look quality. I think its the white label that sets the bats off, the softs finish it off  nicely just the right amount of colour. Glad i placed my order for my first dip into GM.

Lyth's and Lees bats in the first innings sounded like guns going off in the big empty stadium. Like the fact GM have used the new stickers across the whole range this year.
