Q and A with the Majority Shareholder in Mongoose
« on: September 05, 2014, 03:00:36 PM »

Afternoon all. The majority shareholder in Mongoose (who bought it out of receivership) has kindly agreed to undertake a Q and A about Mongoose. Unfortunately it can't be live on here, but he is willing to take questions that are put forward, and we will interview him. The date has to be agreed, but it is likely to be towards the end of next week/beginning of the week after.

We have a  few of our own, relating to his involvement in Mongoose and what he and the others who bought it saw in the brand, but we'd like to open it up to you to find out what questions you'd like to have answered about the brand, company, receivership, future, etc.

The floor is yours!

Q1)when mongoose original came to the fore. the mmi3 was a well made high quality bat(i have one of the originals, bought a week after release).
due to much use, it is near the end of its life, and id like to replace it. yet the current mmi's in the shops that i have come across, are a distinct drop in quality and feel to my original.

to his knowledge, what difference, both in manufacturer, and manufacturing technique have changed for this percieved drop in quality to come about.

Q2)
mongoose are seen as an innovative brand, although short blade longer handled bats have been around a while(newbury uzi) mongoose are seen to me as the brand that bought this thinking well into the public eye.
as the hype around such bats has now dropped, do you have anything in the pipeline that is very innovative to the cricket industry to bring mongoose back into the headlines?

You must be pleased that young goose players like Laurier Evans, Riki Wessels and David Willry are making great strides in one format or t'other. Will you be able to keep them if they make the next step up for any concerted amount of time before New Balance swoop?

Where do you see the greatest potential for growth for a cricket brand like Mongoose?

Who would the archetypal Mongoose pro be? I bet he'll say Marcus Trescothick...

Do you insist on Mongoose pros using your bats or are they free to take labels and sticker up whatever they like?

Who is this majority shareholder ? Asking questions to a nameless person seems strange.

Will my email enquiry to your website ever be answered?

What is your favourite takeaway?

Can we expect an explosion of mongeese being released for the 2015 season?

How do you take your cups of tea?

With a lot more T20 bats now available, what will your USP be moving forward?

Is a Jaffa cake a cake or a biscuit?

Has he ever been involved in cricket before mongoose, if not why invest in such a weird little industry as cricket? ( that's meant in the nicest way possible)
